Wildlife watching near Zarnesti gives you the opportunity to enrich your holiday in Piatra Craiului National Park and see some of the amazing wildlife that lives in the area, which includes wild brown bears. wolves, wild boars, red and roe deer, foxes, owls, Lesser Spotted Eagles etc. in Transylvania, Romania
High season is from April till November. It takes place in the afternoon/evening (precise hour to be confirmed) until almost dark. The hide is a facility where wild bears used to be attracted with food for close-up observations. Usually we are successful in seeing some wildlife, but as there are wild animals involved – nothing is guaranteed!

Program Description
Wildlife watching in Transylvania involves an easy walk of app. 5 minutes on flat ground for wildlife watching at the hide.
Important notes:
– we need to keep a low voice and be relatively still for a few hours.
– there is a short and safe walk from the place where we park the car to the hide itself and back (app. 5 minutes on almost flat terrain); we are always accompanied by a forester who knows how to handle any “unforeseen” situation
– we stay at the hide until almost dark
– the photo fee is included for non-commercial photos, but there is a glass in front of you, and you will have to avoid using the flash or the red light
– there is a “minimum 2 persons paying” request
You will be requested to not use the flash or the red light on you camera!
As this is a very popular activity – you need to book it way in advance!
This activity is very popular. It is very likely there will be other people joining your group at the hide. These people might come also from other tour operators and we cannot be held responsible for their behavior and state of health
Profile
Bear watching near Zarnesti requires very low level of fitness. You only need to be able to stay relatively still and quiet for a few hours (no toilet available during the visit).
Costs
Cost: 61 Euro per person with 4×4 transport from/to Zarnesti (minimum 2 persons paying, if one – check if we have a formed group for that day)
This cost includes the photo fee for non-commercial purposes.
